Two brothers spend the day driving around Los Angeles county looking for the meaning of their lives, or cheap street drugs, depending on who you happen to believe长途的旅程会可能让陌生人变得熟悉，也可能会让疏远已久的亲人重新建立信任和亲情。在影片《乘客》当中，斯科特和自己的亲兄弟托比因为长时间没有联系而变得关系疏远，这一天是斯科特的生日，他决定开车去接托比共同庆祝。这一路上，他们遭遇到车胎爆胎，艳遇，甚至劫匪抢劫等等一系列事件。在这一段戏剧化的旅程当中，两兄弟共同面对这些突发事件，在惊险和欢笑当中渐渐重拾了久违的亲情。
